End-of-day movements

When you check Effective at end of day option

... the movement is effective at the end of the day – in other words, on the following date.

This is typically used for employee terminations.

• The movement date (on the JOBHIST window) is the really the day before the effective date.

  • Internally the movement date (shown on the screen) is H_ONDATE. The effective date (the next day) is H_EFFDT.

• For employment history reports, you select based on movement date (H_ONDATE). So you might ask for all movements on a certain date.

• From the viewpoint of all other modules, the effective date is the when the change comes into effect, the H_EFFDT date (the following day).
