TBL: SENRULE - Seniority Calculation Rules

Umana uses this SENRULE table to calculate seniority in category (SENCAT)

When calculating seniority for someone, Umana scans their JOBHIST records and computes the seniority to accumulate for that interval -- between the movement effective date and the following movement.

For each JOBHIST movement, the seniority engine looks in this SENRULE table to find the rule to apply, based on the employee status in that JOBHIST record.

For Umana to find the right rule for each employee and status, the rule specifies a filter on :

  • What seniority categories (SENCATs) it applies to ?
  • What employee statuses it applies to ?

Once the SENRULE is found, the rule needs to tell Umana how to make the seniority calculation:

  • Is it by hours-worked, or elapsed-caltendar-time?
  • If it is by hours worked, which counter should be used ?
  • What kind of LTD and INAC statuses should be counted ?

TBLC1 — SENCAT

The seniority cateogries this rule applies to

TBLC2 — Selection

Which employee statii this rule applies to

TBLC3 — Selection criteria

This is like the above selection, but gives you access to all JOBHIST fields

TBLC4 — The calculation method

1 = By hours worked (a counter) 2 = By elapsed calendar days

(For LTD and INAC employees it is always by elapsed time.)

TBLC5 — The counter

Select the counter to use to count hours

You probably want to count all regular time, possibly overtime, and maybe certain absences such as vacation.

This will certainly not include prremium hours, which overlap with hours worked

TBLC6 — LTD and INAC type to count

Select major movements initiating LTD and INAC statuses. The major movement which changes the status is the "type" of LTD or INAC it is.

The ones you include here will be counted using elapsed time.

TBLC7 — Default FTE hours per week

Some kinds of seniority is calclulated in hours worked, other kinds in calendar days (or weeks). To add or compare them, Umana needs to know the FTE (Full-Time-Equivalent) hours week.

This number is normally determined by the employee's hours/week in his JOBHIST (divided by the percent of full time he works).

If the number of hours / week is not specified for an employee, Umana uses the number here.

  • You can enter a simple number here, or,
an expression here which refers to JOBHIST fields and evaluates to a number.
