Temporary assignments
You indicate that an assignment – typically to a new job or position – is TEMPORARY by checking the Temporary Assignment option.
- Temporary assignment are shown in the JOBHIST window grid in a different color
A temporary assignment might be
- To replace someone else (who is absent) temporarily
- To train in a new position, while retaining their permanent position
- After an accident and the employee is still recovering
When you are specifying selection criteria for benefits (and possibly elsewhere), you can tell Umana to ignore temporary assignments. It's as if Umana looked through the employee's employment history but couldn't see movements that are marked as temporary.
The employee can hold two positions
Effectively, an employee with a permanent assignment may be the incumbent of that position – the owner of that position, with acquired rights to return after an absence or a temporary assignment
- Check your collective agreement!
This makes for an interest situation when using positions.
- It means that an employee can be incumbent in one position (his permanent position), but temporarily assigned to another. In the first position he is incumbent-absent.
