Net pay (PAYDT) module

This module is only available if you opted for Umana Net Pay.

Overview

The Umana Net pay module lets you calculate the net pay for Canada and all Canadian provinces. It is large, complex, and complete.

The Net Pay module includes

  • Tools for calculating, recalculating, viewing, and adjusting the employee's net pay
  • Tools for printing and distributing pay stubs, transmitting employee direct deposits to your bank, and remitting source deductions.
  • Tools for producing and transmitting T4s (T4s, RelevĂ©1s, etc.) forms at the end of each year.
  • Tools for reporting, analyzing, and exporting to your General Ledger.

Net pay vs Gross pay

Umana separates the Gross Pay (Attendance Detail) from the Net Pay. This means you can use the Umana gross pay, but export to an external net pay provider.

  • The gross pay is very detailed set of daily transactions. Mainly earnings. Organized by date worked, but stamped with period paid.

  • The net pay is by organized pay perod. It summarizes unpaid earning from the gross pay, groups them by pay period, and calculates benefits and taxes.

Gross pay Net pay
Detailed: date, job performed, etc. Summary by pay period
Earnings + unpaid transactions Paid earnings + Deductions
Source: Timesheet, Salary generation, etc Source: Net pay calculation
Data in TIMEDT (& ADJUST) Data in PAYDT (& TEMPPAY)
EFT deposit, GL export, T4s

It is possible to use the Umana gross pay only, and export to an external net pay supplier. (The Umana integrated net pay is so much nicer.)
